Thaitainium - Baby, Whats Up ? (Music Video)

Production Company : Macho Mango, Bangkok, Thailand. Dir : Rajit
The director and I had just finished a job for the latest Toyota Yaris.
Thaitainium ( the best-known hip-hop artist in Thailand,) had starred in that and written the song for it. The band then decided to release an MV featuring a longer version of the song. The basic idea for the clip is 'the last supper,' Toyota also wanted a piece of the action so the director wrote in the story of the girls arriving at the party (in the cars.)
I really enjoyed working on this piece, I was given pretty much carte blanche as far as the editing-style is concerned. It was essential to disscuss ideas and plan techniques in pre-production - with a reduced budget we decided to take as many photos as possible and put them together using different editing-techniques. It certainly helped that the D.O.P. was also a top photographer - although this was his first time operating a film camera.
NB : The band refused to perform any 'sync' takes.
Thankyou to P'Joe the D.O.P. aka J_Surat.
Many thanks (also) to Finito Films, for the use of the Online facilities. ;)

Lumix Ken 30

Production Company: Film Factory,Bangkok, Thailand. Dir : Michael Warr

Generally working with P'Mike is a real pleasure, most times I've worked with him he's experimented in one way or another - this times being no different.

Music turned out to be a real issue, but I think we found the right one - eventually.

Johnsons 60

Production Company: 21 plus, Shanghai, China. Dir: Eva Munz

This job was a bit of a marathon, with a lot of footage to choose from we only had 3 days to edit and then another 4 days were reserved for the endless stream of client tweaks.
In the end, I was very happy with the edits, the soundtrack too helped to add to the touching element so important to the film.

It was the first time I had worked with this agency, but it was also a lot of fun.

Racer 45

Production Company: Cases Films, China. Dir :
A Chinese car company went into production with Lotus, here's the result.
A very cool director/producer team that made the job great to work on, I was happy with the end result but am still unsure about the music.

Amild - Soundrenaline 60

Production Company : Running Water, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dir : Jamie Quah.
An interesting, creative way to advertise what essentially was a rock concert.
The key was to create a rhythm to cut to that not only built towards the end but also to hold shot for a sufficient length for the viewer to coomprehend the notes onscreen.

ICI Plastic 40

Production : Running Water, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dir : Jamie Quah.

A surreal look at the lengths some people will go to to create the perfect environment at home -
and, of course, the actual solution.
A beautifully simple spot which became almost defined by it's music - we tried countless tracks but this Tierrsen composition provides enough grace, semblance of surrealism and normality all at once.
